I know this isn’t nail polish, but I just couldn’t resist. PandeeB sushi!!! SO freaking cute/awesome!
Today I’m wearing Jem from Zoya’s Fall 2011 Mirror Collection. It is described as a “red-toned purple with metallic pink highlights and subtle gold duochrome.”
As you can see, sunlight brings out the metallic pink in the polish. As for the gold duochrome? Well, when they say subtle, they mean nearly invisible. In the bottle, Jem is stunning. You can see the purple, pink, and gold as you rotate it. However, the gold practically disappears once the polish is applied. You need just the right amount of sunlight in just the right spot to see it, but when you do, it’s absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, that loveliness doesn’t translate on camera. All in all, Jem is a very pretty color for fall, but not as pretty and unique as I had hoped.

Tumblr is a crazy, confusing world to me. That being said, I’ve decided to dip my toes into this new place and make a page (almost) solely dedicated to Nail of the Day or “NOTD” posts. I’m kind of a nail polish junkie, and I’ve been known to change out my color 3-5 times a week, so I figured it would be fun - and less annoying than Twitpics- to snap a photo whenever I paint my nails. I’ll probably end up with some random posts about other stuff every now and then, but for the most part, expect nail polish…and LOTS of it!
As some of you may already know (thanks to my incessant tweets), Ulta had a buy one, get one free sale on all butter LONDON nail polishes today. butter LONDON laquers apply like a dream and are super lush, but they’re also super expensive at $14 a pop. This BOGO sale allowed me to justify buying 4 new polishes - the star of which being Blagger (shown above). I’ve been on the hunt for a creamy royal blue polish, and this is it my friends! It’s not navy, it’s not shimmery, it’s just perfect… AND right on trend for fall. Love love love!
